What We Have Supported
In recent years, the Dallas County Hospital Foundation has supported DCH and our communities in the following ways:
- Creation of two Hospice Suites
- Funding for Community Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs)
- Purchased ER/OR Pediatric Trauma Equipment
- Greenspace project completion

Safe Sitter Classes – Offered to young teens ages 11 -15. The program teaches adolescent babysitters confidence as they learn how, why and where injuries can happen so they can
be prevented. - Healthcare Scholarships – This past year seven scholarships were awarded for a total of $7,000 to students entering a career in healthcare and college level students in a healthcare related field.
- Vechicle Extraction Lift– Used in situations to improve patient and employee safety. The Vehicle Extraction Lift is used to solve all of the safety issues caused by manual vehicle extraction.

TV’s in Pre- & Post-Op: The televisions have been instrumental in providing a distraction for
pediatric surgical patients. This has greatly calmed anxieties in children. - Patient Medication Bags - The purpose of the Patient Medication Bags is to improve patient safety. The patients are educated on the use of the bags and has partnered with Mercy Family Care to assist in coordination and education of the patient’s medications.
