GENERAL X-RAY: X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. With our advanced digital imaging system, we can diagnose a wide range of illnesses and injuries. This can include cancer, arthritis, infections, digestive problems, heart and lung diseases, and broken bones.

Routine services are available Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

BONE DENSITY (DEXA) SCAN: As we age, the threat of bone fractures, osteoporosis and losing height become more of a reality. These conditions can be predicted, slowed down and even prevented through a simple, painless and noninvasive radiological exam. DEXA-Scan measures bone density, which is directly related to bone strength.
Doctors can predict the potential for fracture and osteoporosis through DEXA-Scan results.

MAMMOGRAPHY: Dallas County Hospital knows that an annual mammogram is the best way to detect breast cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage. That’s why we are pleased to offer 3D mammography. Our state-of-the-art 3D mammography system allows radiologists to see breast tissue in greater detail resulting in improved cancer detection in all breast density types. We offer both screening and diagnostic breast imaging services. Testing is available M-F.

CT: Used to generate three-dimensional images of the body in order to diagnose medical conditions, the 32 multi-slice CT scanner provides faster, safer scanning with greater accuracy. This technology is generally
used to detect strokes, tumors, bone injuries, cancers, and abdominal or lung diseases.

MRI: MRI scanning has proven very valuable for the diagnosis of a broad range of pathologic conditions in all parts of the body including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke, and joint and musculoskeletal disorders. Dallas County Hospital currently utilizes a mobile MRI service for patients who need MRI scans. Providing
state-of-the-art MRI technology, including the latest software and accessory packages for advanced imaging capabilities, the mobile MRI is available on-site on Saturdays by appointment only.

ULTRASOUND: Also referred to as a sonogram, ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic imaging modality that uses high frequency sound waves to produce images of multiple organs and blood vessels of the body. Dallas County Hospital has state of the art technology in ultrasound.
